Veterans Coalition to honor 15 more unclaimed veterans

The Nevada Veterans Coalition will conduct its 13th mission at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery [NNVMC] by honoring 15 veterans and one spouse whose remains have been in the care of a local mortuary, yet remained unclaimed.

Services will be conducted with full military honors for the following 15 veterans and one spouse at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 10 at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 14 Veterans Way, in Fernley:

  • Margareta Alfred (1915-1981) served in the US ARMY 8 Dec 1944-31 Oct 1945 WWII
  • Earl Anderson (1894-1975) served in the US ARMY 25 Jun 1918-5 Dec 1918 WWI
  • Harry Anderson (1919-1983) served in the US NAVY 22 Dec 1941-25 Jul 1945
  • WWII James Anderson (1912-1981) served in the US ARMY 11 Sept 1943-15 Oct 1945 WWII
  • Leland Byers (1920-1978) served in the US NAVY 27 Oct 1941-03 Dec 1946 WWII
  • McKinley Canady (1920-1986) served in the US ARMY 26 Dec 1945-08 Feb 1947 WWII
  • James Carmack (1919-1982) served in the US NAVY 15 Aug 1944-18 Feb 1946 WWII
  • Alfred Castelli (1924-1986) served in the US ARMY 12 Mar 1943-21 Jan 1946 WWII
  • Norman Clay (1909-1977) served in the US ARMY 05 Jun 1943-13 Nov 1945 WWII
  • Edward Cooley (1896-1982) served in the US ARMY 28 Feb 1918-09 Aug 1919 WWI
  • Vaughn Curtis (1912-1982) served in the US ARMY 4 Feb 1943-12 Feb 1946 WWII
  • Mary Curtis (1915-1985) Vaughn Curtis’ spouse
  • Edward Dahl (1921-1981) served in the US ARMY/US AIR FORCE 14 Aug 1942-30 Jul 1953 WWII/Korea
  • Mike Dangelo (1913-1985) served in the US ARMY 2 Sep 1942-21 Aug 1943 WWII
  • Charles Davenport (1927-1988) served in the US ARMY 14 Mar 1946-10 Jun 1948 WWII
  • Evelyn Hunt (1904-1984) served in the US ARMY 28 Feb 1943-11 Aug 1943 WWII

Government officials, the public and media are invited to attend.
