The Fernley Reporter
The Nevada Veteran’s Coalition will be holding a remembrance ceremony at 11 a.m. April 8 at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. This is the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into World War I.
There are 11 WW I veterans interred at the Veterans Cemetery in Fernley, so please join us in remembering all of our veterans who served during this time.
World War I began July 28, 1914 and ended Nov. 11, 1918. America became involved on April 6, 1917 when congress declared war on Germany, so please join us in paying a well-deserved tribute to these veterans.
The cemetery is located east on I-80 at Exit 48 in Fernley. Go left under I-80 if coming from Reno and then left on Mission Way and a right on Veterans Way to the cemetery.
