Three new Lyon County COVID-19 case Sunday, two Monday

With three new confirmed cases of COVID-19 Sunday and two Monday, Lyon County’s total is now at 87, while a recovery announced Sunday was the county’s 51st.

Of those, 26 cases have been in the 89408 zip code, as of the latest update by Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.

Sunday’s new cases were a man in his 30s, a woman in her 40s and a woman in her 20s. The cases announced Monday were a woman in her 70s and a man in his 70s.

In the Quad County region, there have now been 237 total cases, 162 recoveries and six deaths. Five Quad-County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Community-based COVID-19 testing for residents without symptoms will be available Wednesday, June 10 from 4-6 p.m. at City Hall. No appointment is necessary, and 150 tests will be available.

The tests are part of the community-based testing being done by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center. Testing is also available Tuesday from 8-11 a.m. at Carson High School.
