Susan Eve Gian
The world has lost an amazing and strong woman on Saturday August 21, 2021. Susan Eve Gian passed away unexpectedly at age 85 at Northern Nevada Medical Center in Reno, NV.
Susan was a funny, loving and an amazingly strong woman. She was every bit of glamorous and classy. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and enjoyed fine dining. She would spend every minute at the beach soaking up the sun if she could. She also enjoyed swim/water aerobics and luncheons with her “girls”. Susan was part of the Red Hat Community and adored every minute of it.
She was a long-time employee with the Speedo Corporation in Sparks, NV and that is where she retired from.
Susan was born October 31st, 1935, to Stephen and Elizabeth Bihary in Bridgeport, CT. She was the youngest of 11 children.
Susan was married to, and survived by, her childhood sweetheart Edward Gian, for 63 years. She is also survived by her daughters Linda (Joseph) Abrigo and Karin (Tony) Guthrie, grandchildren- Crystal (Allen), Courtney (Court), Shannon (Cain), Ronnie (Ashley), Mitchell and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was married to Edward, and they created a family in Connecticut. They moved to Sparks, NV in 1980 where they resided until they moved to Fernley, NV in 2002. They moved to Texas in 2020 to live with family.
Susan is preceded in death by son LCpl Kenneth E. Gian, grandson Terry Cadwell, 10 siblings and beloved dog Nippy Tippy.
Memorial and Cremation arrangements will be handled by Waltons- Ross, Burke and Knobel. Memorial Services will be held at Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 14 Veteran’s Way in Fernley, NV on September 16th, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. Her service will be public and all that wish to attend are welcome.
