The sixth death of a Lyon County resident and the fourth in the past two weeks due to COVID-19 was reported Thursday by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.
The victim was a woman in her 80s with underlying conditions.
In addition, one new case and two recoveries in Lyon County were reported Thursday, among six new cases and 15 recoveries overall within the Quad-County region.
The new Lyon County case was a man in his teens over the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
There have been 218 total cases in Lyon County, 38 of them currently active, with 174 recoveries and six deaths.
As of its most recent update at 6 p.m. Aug. 5, 98 total cases have been reported and 15 cases are active in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. There have now been 746 total cases, 615 recoveries and 14 deaths in the Quad-County region.
