NDOT to host community information meeting for proposed safety improvements on SR 447 in Wadsworth

The Nevada Department of Transportation and the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe, will host a public meeting to gather input from the community and provide project information for proposed pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on a segment of Washeim Street, (SR-447) in Wadsworth. The proposed improvements include realigning existing crosswalks and adding street lighting at intersections, adding a multi-use path for pedestrians and cyclists, improving school zone signage, and improving roadside drainage. 

The purpose of the proposed project is to improve traffic operations, multi-modal access, and safety for all roadway users including pedestrians and cyclists.

The meeting will be held at Natchez Elementary School from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, 4 – 7 p.m., with a presentation at 5:30 p.m.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend at their convenience any time during the meeting hours of 4-7 p.m. Project representatives will be on hand to discuss and answer questions. There will be a brief project presentation at 5:30 p.m., followed by a short question-and-answer period from the audience. Before and after the presentation, the meeting will be conducted as an open-house format to provide an opportunity to view displays and individually discuss the proposed improvements with representatives.
