Lyon County’s second death, two new COVID-19 cases reported Tuesday

A woman in her 70s became the second person to die due to COVID-19 in Lyon County on Tuesday.
In addition, two new cases of COVID-19 in Lyon County were reported Tuesday by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.
The new cases are a woman in her 30s with no connection to any previously reported case, and a woman in her 70s who does have a connection to a previously reported case.
Lyon County has now had 89 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 56 recoveries and two deaths.
Of those, 38 cases have been in the 89408 zip code, as of June 8, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC.
In the Quad County region, there have now been 242 total cases, 170 recoveries and seven deaths. Four Quad-County residents are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Community-based COVID-19 testing for residents without symptoms will be available Wednesday, June 10 from 4-6 p.m. at City Hall. No appointment is necessary, and 150 tests will be available.
The tests are part of the community-based testing being done by the Quad-County Emergency Operations Center.
