Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

The Lyon County School District on Monday announced there has been one confirmed positive case of COVID-19 at Fernley High School.

Principal Kent Jones said a staff member has tested positive. That person has been in limited contact with students and staff, and has not been at school since Friday, Sept. 4. Some students and staff have been excluded from the school building due to possible exposure and are attending school via distance learning. Jones also said all students and staff who have possibly been exposed have been contacted by the Quad-County Public Health Preparedness. Students and staff who have not been contacted by QCPHP are asked to continue their schedules as planned.

QCPHP is conducting contact tracing.
