Fernley man killed in crash near Wadsworth

The Fernley Reporter

A Fernley man was killed early Saturday when his truck went off a cliff near the Truckee River.

KOLO TV reports that Saul Arellano, 27, died when his truck went over an embankment south of the Truckee River, between the Painted Rock and Wadsworth exits of Interstate 80. The area where the accident occurred is in Storey County.

The truck landed upside down next to the railroad tracks, and was hit by a Union Pacific Train several hours later. Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro said Arellano was killed the fall off the cliff, not the impact of the train.
