After finishing fourth in their first two meets of the season, the Fernley girls golf team dropped to fifth in last Tuesday’s meet at Truckee. The meet scheduled the previous day at South Tahoe was cancelled due to weather.
Coach Brian O’Neill said the Vaqueros didn’t play as well in Tuesday’s meet at Ponderosa Golf Course as they had on their trip to Spring Creek and Elko the previous week.
“Perhaps some fatigue from an emotional week,” O’Neill said. “We will keep after it.
Elko won the meet with a team score of 366. Spring Creek edged out Lowry for second, with a team total of 426 to Lowry’s 430. Fallon took fourth with a team score of 467, and Fernley was fifth with 477.
Individually, Hailee Edgar had the lowest score for Fernley at 109. Jenna Kollar shot 120, Olivia Victor checked in at 122 and McKenna Montgomery was the fourth scorer with a 126. Maya Fisher shot 140 and Lancy Miller checked in at 162.
Annika Criss of Elko and Tatyana Carlson of Lowry tied for low medalist honors at 79.
The Northern 3A teams were schedule to play today in Dayton.
