Three groups of Fernley Intermediate School and Silverland Middle School Gifted, Talented, and Acceleration students toured the Tesla Gigfactory at the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center to discover and explore ideas related to sustainability and clean energy efficiency.

Students learned how Tesla uses technology to be more efficient in manufacturing and how their products will assist with ensuring a clean energy future. Students experienced the benefits of direct communication within a collaborative work environment, as well as, saw strategies put into place that are necessary for effective problem solving.

Robotics and automation was a particular point of interest for many students. Students were also fascinated by the plant wall and how an indoor growing system positively impacts the air quality within the factory.
