In the County Commission District 2, which represents Silver Springs and part of Fernley, Scott Keller of Silver Springs is running against David Stix, Jr. of Fernley. That seat is currently held by Vida Keller, who is running for the Assembly District 38, against Churchill County Commissioner Greg Koenig. Incumbent District attorney Steve Rye is being challenged by Troy Jordan, while Lori Ann Harrington, Christine Smith and Anita Talbot are running for recorder.

Congressman Mark Amodei, whose District 2 seat includes Fernley, is one of 13 candidates for that seat.

The Primary Election will be held on June 14 with Early Voting beginning Saturday, May 28, and running through Friday, June 10. The General Election will be on November 8.

We the people who live in Lyon County need to involved in our local government. Fernley prematurely became a City with a farmer not a leader in charge. He wanted to be the first mayor and he was!! Review the accomplishments of every person Mayor, Council etc. Then do the same for the people who are stepping g forward to rub. Then decide! Change is needed!!
