Calvary Chapel hosting Candidates Night Tuesday

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Calvary Chapel in Fernley will be hosting its traditional Meet the Candidates Night Debate, Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

Candidates for Lyon County Sheriff, Fernley Mayor and Fernley City Council are invited to debate, and all other candidates present will be introduced.

The format will be the same as past forums held by Calvary Chapel. Each candidate will be on stage alone and will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves, then answer questions from the moderator. Their opponents will be in a separate building, and will not be allowed to hear the questions prior to their turn on stage.

Voters will have the opportunity in the reception room to speak individually with all candidates.

Even though the forum is held in a church, candidates will not be asked religious questions. Submitted questions must be brief, and germane to the office being sought. The same questions are asked of all candidates, and there is a time limit.
