Fourteen new cases of COVID-19 and no recoveries in Lyon County were reported Thursday by the Quad County Emergency Operations Center.
There have been 477 total cases in Lyon County, 46 of them currently active, with 423 recoveries and eight deaths.
In addition, Lyon County Manager Jeff Page reported Thursday that 34 out of 53 tests were positive at Mason Valley Residence, an assisted living facility in Yerington. Mason Valley Residence has 34 studio and one-bedroom apartments and a separate 12-bed Alzheimer’s Unit. In all, Mason Valley Residence has had 36 total cases, 22 of them residents and 14 of them among staff.

As of its most recent update at 6 p.m. Oct. 8, 198 total cases have been reported and 15 cases are active in the 89408 zip code, according to Carson City Health and Human Services and the Quad-County EOC. There have now been 1,416 total cases, 1,273 recoveries and 17 deaths in the Quad-County region.
